The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) is accepting comments in preparation for its fall meeting.

The board reviews comments before its two annual meetings; the fall meeting is scheduled for Oct. 25-27 in Sacramento, California. The board will be accepting written comments until Sept. 29. A separate process for oral comments starts in late August when the meeting agenda and proposals are posted.

The USDA's organic sealThe oral comment slots may fill up quickly, and the board will hear those comments from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific (noon to 5 p.m. Eastern) Oct. 18 and Oct. 20.

Written comments on the NOSB subcommittee proposals can be submitted at Regulations.gov (Docket # AMS-NOP-22-0042).

The oral comment registration will be available on the USDA’s NOSB Fall 2022 meeting webpage starting in late August.

The meeting will be broadcast live; if circumstances don’t permit an in-person event, the meeting will be virtual. Updates will be on the meeting webpage.
