Jul 19, 2024Texas launches applications for Organic Certification Cost Share Program
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) have launched the application process or the National Organic Certification Cost Share Program.
The certification program initiative is designed to offer financial support to organic producers, processors, distributors, and other handlers aiming to achieve or maintain organic certification.
The program provides financial resources to help cover the costs associated with organic certification, which can be both complex and expensive. “This grant is designed to help offset the costs of that certification,” said Commissioner Miller. “TDA is committed to supporting the organic industry in Texas.”
Funded through a cooperative agreement between the USDA and TDA, the program covers up to 75% of an individual producer’s certification costs, with an annual maximum of $750 per certificate or certification category.
Detailed instructions and 2024 application materials are available on TDA’s website. For more information, email TDA.
