Dole launches members-only salad community

Taking a page from the recently introduced lovemysalad.com website from Netherlands-based Rijk Zwaan, Dole Fresh Vegetables has established a new online and social media salad community.

The members-only Salad Circle launches today as a separate, gated app on the Dole Salads Facebook page. Those who enroll will receive access to exclusive offers and promotions; recipes, tips and photos from salad lovers; and ideas for salad get-togethers with friends.

They’ll also be able to have online chats with Dole salad experts including growers, bloggers, nutritionists and others.

“Our goal is for this destination to become the public’s go-to source and interactive forum for anything and everything related to salad,” said Chris Mayhew, Dole Fresh Vegetables marketing director, in a press release.

The Salad Circle ties in with Dole’s Salad’tude marketing campaign. Both are part of the company’s efforts to increase fruit and vegetable consumption. The company currently offers 28 salad blends and 10 all-natural salad kits.
